Behind the wings..

Possum & May was born in a season where I felt like I had lost myself.

After becoming a mum, my world shifted in the most beautiful way, but somewhere along the way, I put my own interests, creativity, and sense of direction to the side. I was living fully for my family, but I wasn’t quite sure where I still existed within that.

At the same time, my mental health took a toll, and I felt the need to take back a small piece of control, something just for me. Something slow, something grounding, something created by hand.

So I began making.

What started as a quiet way to reconnect with myself slowly became something more. Creating gave me space to slow down, to be patient, and to find meaning again in the process, not just the outcome.

I wanted to make things that felt gentle and magical. Pieces that could open little worlds of imagination, where children could play, explore, and just be.

Thrifting has always been a part of my life ; something I’ve loved for years. While I enjoy fabric stores, I never saw the need to constantly buy new when there were already beautiful materials out there waiting for a second life.

Some of the fabrics I use come from unexpected places — vintage linens, offcuts, end-of-roll pieces — things that may have been overlooked, but still hold so much character and beauty.

Giving them a new purpose felt natural.

Possum & May is named after my two girls, the heart of everything I do.

This little brand is for all the small, imaginative minds who see magic in the everyday. For the backyard adventures, the dress-ups, the quiet moments of make-believe.

Because as parents, we know just how quickly those moments pass.

More than anything, I hope Possum & May becomes something that connects people.

A place where stories are shared, where creativity is valued, and where a little bit of magic can be found again. Even if it’s something you thought you’d lost along the way.
